Well, video collectors are movie fans. I rarely buy movies less than 10 year old because they play them endlessly on the movie channels. You get to see them a lot. I like to pick up the old classics that rarely get shown or have only been shown in poor pan-and-scan instead of full cinema widescreen. I see things I've never seen before. Most films you can see once, but there are still hundreds of great ones that stand up to repeated viewing over the years. I'm probably going to find a used Planet Earth Blu-ray, its a pricy set.
dammit, looks like this may force me to get a blu-ray player just for this damn series. and band of brothers. Amazon.com: Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series [Blu-ray]: David Attenborough: Movies & TV
Band of Brothers - REMARKABLE. Worth the price of admission (though, to be fair, I recieved it as a gift). Sound and picture are like nothing I've ever seen. Dark Knight Stranger Than Fiction Pinocchio 70th Anniversary Man on Fire Kingdom of Heaven Slumdog Millionaire The Matrix- not the box set, just the 1st one's 10th anniversary edition. Don't care for the 2nd and 3rd at all.
Just recently bought a blu-ray player. 1st movie i bought was the new Fast and The Furious. good movie.
added 7 more movies to my new collection: U-571 The Rock Remember The Titans Silence of The Lambs Coach Carter American Gangster Casino
Maybe I should go back for seconds. I thought it was well acted and smart and all that, but maybe it's just that American history doesn't intrigue me the way that Roman history and that of the wild west has.
