That's a great point. I almost never eat the canned ones, but cooking 'em like you mention probably does make a great replica. Now that you've brought it up, I think I'm putting some red beans on to soak. How do you stuff a flank steak? Tonight, I think we'll have leftovers from last night -- wheat linguine with jalapeno sausage and Vodka sauce, unless I eat it for lunch!
This thread should have a warning. "DO NOT read unless you want to be hungry" Last night I made: Grilled NY strip Green Bean, jalapeƱo, and cheese casserole 4 cheese macaroni and cheese Coke Zero Butterscotch Rice Crispy treats and I've got tons of leftovers because I cook for myself.
Sorry so late tiga...been workin my azz off. Nooch's way is really good but next time you grill a slab try this... Marinade in a mixture of Italian dressing, Cajun Power Garlic Sauce, Tony's(or your favorite seasoning), crushed fresh garlic, and fresh lemon juice. Cook as nooch said but keep brushing the marinade back on it...:thumb:
I'm at dear old Mom's for the holiday weekend. She just made pork chops, rice and gravy, and sauteed fresh asparagus from her garden. And that strong, sweet iced tea. Simple and delicious.
I'll bet she still loves cooking for her lil boy too.......you probably made her year. It got to where mine was hardly able and the quality of the food wasn't quite what it had been, but despite the fact we hated seeing her "Go through all that trouble" we knew it meant a lot to her to have us and to cook for us so we'd indulge her. :thumb:
