Now you are talking. We use to kill 30-40 a year, grind them up with a little beef fat and put it in the chest freezer. Deer meat Spaghetti was the #1 use for that meat. (The limit was one a day, that was the usual take per season off our land just outside of Auburn and helped feed 3 families.)

I haven't hunted in many years now. Me and my bro-in-law have a pretty good working agreement. I catch the fish and keep him stocked up, and he hunts, and keeps me stocked up.

I wish my wife would put mushrooms in the spaghetti, but since I'm the only one here who eats it, I understand why she doesn't.

We made a little 5 acre pond and stocked it with catfish.

FYI We use to be able to catch Redfish out here in West Texas until the last algae bloom. The water is very salty out here.

I loved growing up in north Louisiana where there were a dozen lakes, ponds, and streams I could drive to in 15 minutes and didn't need a boat to find a fishin' spot. Fresh bream and catfish galore and the occasional bass or white perch.

Now I do most of my fishing for filets at Whole Foods or Albertsons. You get lazy livin' in the city.
