not only was the oven repairman late, my oven still isn't fixed cause a part has to be ordered. no time to fix dinner after that. i had a sonic chili cheese coney and tots for dinner. i really need to get the beef stew made for dinner tonight!
Tonight- dinner on the run as we get our Christmas Tree Tomorrow night- quick dinner as I decorate the tree and clean house Friday- Dinner in ATL :geaux:
finally got this damned stew made. beef, onions, carrots, mushrooms (heavy on the mushrooms). seasoned with, marjoram, thyme, bay leaves, garlic, salt. the liquid is some beef stock, and about 2/3 of the liquid was red wine. and served over buttered egg noodles. not bad. not bad at all.
ended up going out for a few (+ a few) adult beverages. thought it would be a good idea to eat a pizza too.
Fancy! My stew consists of 2 cans French Onion soup + 1 can low sodium/fat cream of mushroom soup + 3 lbs "assorted beef", which I've taken to calling "beefy chunks". We had it last night and it was good.
While in Baton Rouge the other day, I meandered over to Corporate and Mansur's. Had some great gumbo, a Napa salad, and a 7 oz filet topped with a lobster spear. Amazing. Had "some" wine also... some Chianti.
tried to fry a porkchop. something tells me i need to stick to shrimp and oysters as a homeless guy would not have eaten my porkchop.
One of my best friends is the executive chef there, I will tell him you enjoyed the food. Next year you should stop by our tailgate, he prepares some amazing food. He makes the gumbo you had twice a year and I expect he will make it for the Bama game if it is cold enough.
