Re: What will a Brantley offense look like? David Nelson is also a Wide out. I would think that this offense will mirror that of a Texas Tech style spread offense.
Re: What will a Brantley offense look like? Hernandez is it. But you can only do so much with a TE. He is still a handful and can hurt us if we're not careful. Cooper wouldn't see the field at LSU. Deonte Thompson is coming off a hammy injury and is cleared to play Saturday night. He will have a little rust, so not sure what his impact will be. I am guessing hardly anything.
Re: What will a Brantley offense look like? Cooper is a really good baseball player, but he is average at best as a wide receiver. Spectacular is Lafell, who will be getting that 1st round money in April.
Re: What will a Brantley offense look like? I suspect Red is not that familiar with Florida football. Not sure. That kid is as uneventful a wideout as you will find on the collegiate level.
Re: What will a Brantley offense look like? Caused Early Doucet to fumble on a kickoff that led to a safety in 06 at the beginning of the 2nd half. That game still resonates. If you think about it, we are right where Florida was in 06. We should have won that game, we were more talented, faster, bigger, stronger. Had a top 5 Defense. Hmmmmm.
stupid question, but anyone know if our best DL will be playing? if this brantley is a great passing, immobile qb then the inside rush is important. flush him out to one side (his non-throwing side) and bring the 2nd safety over. he either throws into tight spaces or tries risky throws to the other side of the field.
Re: What's Chavis' gameplan vs Brantley? Look for many slant routes to open up to Hernandez and Cooper when Chavis blitzes. Demps, Rainey and Moody will be running a lot to mix it up hopefully as well. I wouldnt be surprised if Brantley ran the option, although using the verb "run" and Brantley in the same sentence is crazy I know. Hopefully our line can hold against your beastly tigers. I hope Spikes, Hicks and Dunlap, Jones and Stamper create pressure on Jefferson and maybe our boys can stop Scott, Williams and Holliday from running up and down the field. Janoris Jenkins, Haden, Black and Major Wright will have their hands full because you guys have a great receiving corp with LaFell, Toliver,Dickson and Jackson . Our secondary isnt all that bad though and will hopefully create some turnovers. As always I hope Brandon James gets the chance for some sweet returns. This game will be electric. I am so excited to see what Brantley can do. If he has the mental toughness to stick it out and perform in the Bayou he will be good anywhere, and the more time he gets the less the team will pin its hopes on Tebow. It's good to have back up experience. This game in the long run will only make the Gator's stronger. But Saturday night belongs to whichever team executes better because the talent is there on both sides. The edge going to LSU for the home field advantage. Let it start now.
Re: What's Chavis' gameplan vs Brantley? Fighting Gator, you are giving me diabetes. Enough already...lol Start a fight with somebody would you.
Re: What's Chavis' gameplan vs Brantley? Great post, FightinGator. You need to give your secondary a little more credit than that. That part of the contest (the game within the game) will be fun to watch unfold.
Re: What's Chavis' gameplan vs Brantley? If Tebow doesn't go . . . and Brantley gets hurt . . . who does FLorida play? I hear their punter is taking snaps at #3 QB.
