Geez I seem to be causing enough trouble with out even trying, let alone having an Auburn ramah come in. Now that's a scary thought, an Auburn ramah. Wouldn't that be something to behold? :hihi:

I agree with Red55...... it likely wouldn't have changed anything.

You must understand that the SEC is ranked as the 4th or 5th strongest conference by nearly every computer poll - and that chaps my azz as much as anything else. As a student (read: "Addict") of CFB I just don't buy that.

One of the problems is the "extra" home game that SEC teams are obligated to play as a result to building the world's best shrines to football - out stadiums. This extra home game is viwed as a liability of several - but not all - of the computer poll formulas.

So we're all penalized by the very success of our collective efforts. Tyupical socialist viewpoint, if you ask me.

There is no need to go back and look at anything, it is common knowledge that strength of schedule has a reduced role in the new BCS formula. Auburn's SOS is much much higher than either USC or OU. If SOS had as much impact as last year AU would at least be closer even if they didn't pass OU or USC. There is NO WAY you can say that the reduced role of SOS doesn't hurt Auburn.

Twisted,....actually that's part of the problem. The computers have Auburn's SOS significantly lower than OU and USC, despite the NCAA's SOS rankings to the contrary. In fact, they have all SEC school's SOS significantly reduced across the board because it has a compounding effect.

Sagarin's didain for all things SEC is openly transparent, as you are likely already aware. But since they don't publish their secret formula, nobody really knows for certain.
