What would be an intelligent chant for student section

You are right, THAT would be great. Hard to coordinate but great.

Way back when, there was a thing called the South West Conference. The member schools were Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Rice, Baylor, SMU, Houston, and Texas Tech.


When I was a kid, the Aggies played Rice every year, hence the popularity of that old cheer. And seriously, I always liked it.

For those who wonder why the Aggies always say "Gig 'em", that was for another SWC rival, the TCU "Horned Frogs", as in "gig the frogs".

Agreed! A great example of pure fan/student support of their team. Unfortunately some students go for the easy profanity chant which draws attention away from the game and on them. We now live in an "It's all about ME" society. It's said that so many in the student section want it to be about "Them" instead of about our football team and University. I hope this can get reversed this week. I wonder if there are some strong leaders in the ranks of the LSU student body who can make a difference??? You know, our future leaders of tomorrow??? :usaflagwa :geauxtige :crystal::crystal:

 

Yes, I grew up in Texas and loved the SW conference with relatives and friends attending almost all the schools. One among many reasons I choose LSU was how similar it was to schools in the SWC. With it having strong Agricultural roots it gave me a feeling of home even though it was out of state. I can remember playing on the tennis courts across from my dorm Graham Hall in the evenings when the wind was blowing from the AG side of school. Anyone remember that smell. It reminded me of home.

 

Norfolk State has a cute one:

but it doesn't really fit you guys...

 

I can safely predict you will not here that cheer coming from the LSU student section. Wait, maybe the BSU(Baptist Student Union) crowd. :wink:

 

This would actually be really original and somewhat humorous...
