I pick on Mack for being a goofball and an underachiever, but my real targets are their obnoxious frontrunning fans. They aren't exactly the "we're behind our team no matter what" types. Heck, our fans nearly outnumbered tham at the Cotton Bowl last year; a game played in their home state for gosh sakes . Their expectations are almost as ridiculous an Nebraska's" For this reason alone I hope that the Longhorns NEVER win their conference or win a big bowl game.
They're not? That's what the official name is, and that's what everyone except for A&M and Tech fans calls them. I'll deal with the facts, which is that the university is named the University of Texas... you deal with whatever other universe you're living in where they're TU.

I thought that they would change to TU so that they could fit in with all the other Big 12 schools: University of Oklahoma = OU University of Colorado = CU University of Nebraska =NU University of Kansas = KU
FYI - word around Austin is that Brown's job is safe (and rightfully so in my opinion) - Expect to Reece and Davis (DC and OC) gone next year - Don't forget that Texas beat the K State team tha whipped up on OU tonight - that's what you gotta love about NCAA ball. Also, maybe it's b/c they often overlap, but I think Texas is accused of losing the "big" games when in fact they lose the physical games...Arkansas is an example - it wasn't hyped at all - but it was smashmouth. This has been a trend for the last few years since alothough Mack is a great recruiter, he focuses on academically inclined kids from great families when, as onle local colunist noted after the 65-13 smiting by the sooners, "Football is an ugly game and one often best played with a mean streak." Look to Vince Young to lead the Longhorns to to another great season next year. Meanwhile....I will taunt them mercilessly and call all my local friends from the DOME on 1/4/04!!
