Auto LIABILITY insurance is mandatory. That's to protect others from your negligence. Health insurance is a private individual matter and the government has no business telling people what they have to do in that regard.

He threw them a milkbone. He's going to let them try out some plan in Idaho to see how it works out. Gee Thanks, Obama. I'll bend over willingly now.

If we get attacked by someone, then hell yes we should find them and wipe them out. But i don't recall there being a nation called "terror". The point you are missing is that, Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. The Bush Administration tried, really hard, to make everyone think that there was a connection, but there wasn't. If 9-11 would have never happened, Iraq would have been invaded by the Bush Administration, that guy knew he was going to invade Iraq before he was even elected.

It's not shared by anybody. It's a childish hippie stereotype that doesn't describe anyone here. My points didn't say one damn thing about "if we just sit around, smoke a few joints, and act nice to everyone we'll be loved and there will never be another war." Why don't you address what I actually said? What a smokescreen!

I've made post after post about how this obsession with Iraq is taking resources away from the military and how our trraditional enemies haven't gone away. Most moderates are not anti-military. And neither are most liberals.

Yes, look where. Clinton won his wars in Bosnia and Kosovo. He bombed Yugoslavia into submission without a single American casualty and Milosovich went to war crimes trials. Clinton tried to kill bin Ladin twice with missile strikes years before 9/11. Bush did nothing about bin Ladin until after 9/11 and never caught or killed him, instead chasing a mirage in Iraq that had nothing to do with 9/11--even Bush admits this. Clinton bombed Iraq twice for trying to assassinate Bush 41 and for Sanctions violations. He maintained a no-fly zone for 8 years, denying Saddam use of his own airspace, routinely bombing radars and missile sites.

Moderate Democrats like Clinton are not and have never been anti-military, not have they "sat on their hands". Make your case if you can prove otherwise.

It is you that is stuck in the 60's.

Not to speak for SF but I think the opinion is that you can run naked but expect to get booted from the hospital when you need treatment. Therefore there are no "others".

Well, shame on Bush. But what does that have to do with Obama and Health Care?

Health Insurance is a "1st party" coverage, i.e., it covers the person who buys it against something that might happen to him/her. It would be similar to government mandated Collision coverage.

The solution is simple. If you have the means and don't want health Insurance that's your business, but be prepared to put the money up before you're treated.

And do you really have to respond every time someone mentions Bush? Can you say "obsessed"?
