I still haven't recovered from the debacle of the Ole Miss game.

I love Les Miles for his integrity and his recruiting skills, but to have confidence in him beyond that has totally left me. It would take winning the SEC CG to regain it, at a minimum.

I've always been fascinated by huge upsets in sports because what happens on the field carries over into life. Equally fascinating to me is coming back from defeat. These two aspects of sports really define the human spirit. Faith and Hope are so interrelated that they define who we are in the context of our lives in the world. Winning isn't everything, but going down swinging and coming back are. It's death and resurrection personified.

Because of sports, I've been able to overcome a lot of adversity in my own life. I've posted about it in the past and don't want to rehash the details. JayB knows what it's like.

I was going to post this two days ago, but I got redirected to somewhere in mid post. I still can't pull up this website and got here by hook and crook. I can't get to the home page so I can't get to post this complaint in the help forum. This is getting so frustrating that I may have to "get a life" and quit trying to access Tigerforums until the problems are solved. Brett, if there is something I need to do could you tell me via my e-mail? ([email protected]) Does anyone know what is going on? wake me up when this website returns to normal. I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do.

As far as the "broken record goes, my problem is this. People say well he averages 10 wins a season. What if we go 8-5, 8-5 the next two years? That puts Les at 9.57 wins per season. Does the new record say, "well, he averages 9.57 wins per year, basically 10 wins per year." ? At what point is that number too low?

I just want to compete for an SEC championship, in my opinion, we did that last year. We win at Alabama (which we should have) and we get a shot another shot at Florida. To me after last season, coming off of the season we had before, we improved, we got better, maybe not offensively but that will come with experience.

This team will be better this season. Book it.

as simple as this seems, this is the best post in this thread. why? because it's the first game, on the road (again) against a team that is more than good enough to beat you if you're not ready (again.) last season against washington was just a harbinger of the rest of the season. we didn't really progress from that point, and in many ways, regressed. we need to come out and friggin' dominate! if that means scheduling nicholls state to open the season, maybe that's what it takes.

i also want to see swagger, but the Dude maybe said it the best when he mentioned that no one on the offensive side of the ball knew what the hell was going on. it was frustrating to watch, i don't ever want to see an LSU offense that inept again. there is no excuse for it.

aside from that, i am an LSU fan. i will always be an LSU fan. i will always believe, but therein lies the problem, the rub, if you will: we live and die with LSU athletics, we discuss and dissect EVERYTHING! sometimes it's cool to just sit back and enjoy things for what they are. but when you have colossal meltdowns (there is no way LSU, with its talent, should finish outside of the top 50 in offense) it gets frustrating.

I think the general idea of success for LSU is to be in the SEC 'ship every year. By my logic, I'd say that most SEC 'ship games are pretty close to even. Winning it virtually guarantees a national championship game. Assuming that game is also pretty even, we would win a national title every 4 years.

I guess my point is 50% of winning the SECCG, 50% of winning the BCS game, means we would win the title every 4 years(25%).

What my point is that it is unreasonable to expect. Players change, teams change, and you can't count on that kind of success every year. If you give a coach the benefit of the doubt and say every 2 years LSU has to be in the SECCG, you can only expect a BCS title every 8 years(based solely on chance).
