Sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the greater good. I'm sure that would go over well.:D

maybe he came cheaply? not sure anyone else wanted him... even most LSU fans saw it as a gimmicky and risky hire.

This entire post is dead on.

But Miles can't prove you wrong. No matter what LSU does this year, Miles has been a TERRIBLE coach the past couple years. The question is, can Miles learn from the past two years and improve his coaching?

I compare to Sean Payton with the Saints. The past 2 years SP was horrible. He didn't believe in needing a good defense and thought he could throw the ball 40-50 times every game and win. Well obviously he realized that wasn't working. This year he literally paid for a new DC and started running the ball. Result=Super Bowl Champs.

If Miles can turn it around like Payton did, then the Miles critics won't be proven wrong. Miles just got his head out of his ass and realized a change needed to be made.

I'll agree that Miles needs to change...and in the way you describe. I just happen to think he knows it. To me, the best thing about the spring game was that the playcalling on offense was better...and we saw some hard running from Ford and Ridley...smashmouth style. Miles has been insinuating that style since the end of last year, and that's what we need. We'll see if he follows thru, and if the OL is able to open holes for the bruisers. They are heavier than last year's OL...and that can only help. They CANNOT wind up on their collective backside every play like last year. Good running backs can only do so much.
