2001 SECCG was not only the best road game I have ever attended, but it was the best overall football game. When Mauck scrambled for that 14 yard TD every LSU fan there couldn't contain themselves.

1982. LSU beat Alabama on the road, 20 to 10 and it wasn't that close. The defensive line of Leonard Marshall, Ramsey Dardar, and Bill Elko dominated the game. Alabama had no first downs in the first half. I've never heard Bama fans so quiet.

After the game, the Houndstooth Hatted One stated to the press that it was a major butt whipping and maybe it was time for a coaching change at Alabama. He retired from coaching at the end of that season.

I guess it would be either the LSU over Bama win 26-0 in 1996(?) or the 31-16 win over Auburn in 1998. We sat in the Bama student section and all that remained late in the game was my crew and another of about 20 Tiger fans. One of the LSU O-line (McClure?) pointed to us after Faulk's long TD run. Had just turned 21 before the Auburn trip and got to stay in one of their student housing areas (trailer park). That was a fun trip.

    The best road game:

    1. The best road game I ever attended was the 1993 (I beleive it was 1993) LSU/BAMA game in Tus. Bama was undefeated and defending national champions. Before the game the cheerleaders would say "HOW DO YOU SPELL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS" enter the bama fans "B--A--M--A" then so on and so on............Well after the game we would scream " How do you spell Losers" B--A---M--A.............It was quite humerous............The only bad part about that game was it keep Curley around for one more year.

    2. The second best game for me was the "Blue Grass Miracle" (enough said)

    3. 2001 sec championship game..........I hate the VOLUNQUEERS!!!!!!! " Anyone have any Rose Bowl tickets?"

1997 at Bama, the year after they beat us 26-0 in Tiger Stadium, we beat them 27-0 there. That year Bama lost to La. Tech a few weeks before playing LSU, before the game we ran into a group of about 30 LSU fans walking around chanting:
Bama, Bama, you must be wreck, you just got beat by Louisiana Tech,
Bama, Bama, what you gonna do, when the LSU Tigers come for you.

    Amazing, totally amazing.

I have to say, watching 'The Bluegrass Miracle' in person was an awesome experience.
