the statue of liberty play was simply good play calling... could have been less fancy, but the play was obvious... OU was in man-2-man and there was NO ONE on the right side of the defense... all they needed to do was hook the end and get the linebacker flowing away... so a misdirection was definately needed...

Exactly!!! That wide-out did an unbelievable job selling it. He never looked around for the lateral. He just ran with his eyes looking UPFIELD!!! Un-phucking-believable.

I thought the BSU program looked very classy, and I like Chris Peterson as their head coach a lot better than that slovenly-looking Hawkins fellow. It may turn out, also, that Peterson was always the brains behind the situation there, not Hawkins.

I actually became a fan of BSU's last night. And I can't wait to watch all of the OU fans I come in contact with here in north Texas moaning about their loss!

That Boise State team was the true definition of team. They all believed in each other, if they didn't, none of those plays would have worked.
However I didn't like how bad the announcers were and how they were so pro-BSU. When OU scored on the pick 6, it was just silence for about 15 seconds.

Probably the most exciting game I have ever seen. With over a month to prepare, some coaching staff's over prepare, not BSU. I like coaches that will practice a couple of gimick plays all season long and get to use them to perfection....(ie-Titans Homerun Throwback, BSU Statue of Liberty).

    The statue lives!

That was certainly a crazy ending. I haven't seen that many trick plays in crucial situations in a while. Maybe never.

Each play was at a crucial point in the game.

    4th & 18 (50 yd line -15 sec left)
On the h&l, a lot of coaches use the player (that will get the pitch) coming out of the backfield on maybe lined up as a TE on the playside, but the WR who received the pitch came from across the field. Very clever, although that play is used a lot.

    4th & 2 OT (6yd line)
I don't know how many coaches would put the WR @ QB and run that play in that do or die situation.

    2pt conversion OT
I think the OU defense is still looking for the ball. Wow! Pulled out one of the oldest, most classic plays out of the bag on that one. My favorite. Maybe coach should have called this one right after the h&l TD.

Again all 3 were executed to perfection. Players kept their composure and remained focused. Glad Boise won.

    Here's a link to last night's highlights.

definitely gotta go with the hook & lateral. without that play all is moot. I was in awe of not only the call but the fact they had the guts to throw the pass short of the 1st down and pitch to the outside. the timing was impeccable and Im not sure how a play like that could work so well in that situation. the guy looked like he was shot out of a cannon when he caught the pitch. The slo-mo replay certainly doesnt do it justice.

Although lining up the qb as a wideout and a wideout as the qb was stupid in my opinion but hey it worked and he is a genius.

i also thought stoops would have run AD when they were at the 1. couldnt have happened to a better crier. urban is just a spawn. stoops has the patent.

this is what a lot of people think and it seems to have merit yet dirk koetter was the HC before hawkins so maybe its just momementum that has kept going. Koetter is a great offensive mind as we found out 2 years ago.

He (dh) won coach of the year a couple times before he left for colorado and im wondering if he wishes he had stayed. I think he only won 2 games this year and thats painful regardless the pay raise. He's having second thoughts like little nickie I imagine.

That game is what makes college sports the best. Especially college football. It proves the point that a smaller school could pull the upsets in football, like in basketball. Hopefully this will help push for a playoff.

Coach Miles was just talking about how great a play the Boise State Statue of Liberty play was on his radio show. He said he wrote it down and LSU will use it next year.
