i am hoping somebody will see the light of rational thinking and ditch their backward wizardy. i know that when i was a kid i didnt really know anyone who wasnt christian at all. i just went with the flow. i think people like sabanfan especially have that mindset. they cant really consider that christianity is not true. all their lives, its all they have known, and all their family and almost everyone they have met. it is hard to break away from craziness if you are in that situation. you sort of put some faith in the judgement of your community, without judging things on their own merits. thats why i say what i do. i dont like the mentality that it is wrong to question or disprespect people's beliefs when they believe in magic. my attitude towards christianity is like yours might be towards a snake-oil seller. there is no reason to respect lies.

 

I can consider that it is not true. In fact, I consider it a lot. I doubt every day. I can't ignore the reality in my life... you might call it hallucination. I am too smart to avoid doing that. I refuse to be a sheep.

If I were a sheep I'd still be Catholic.

Ask any porn star. They are not fulfilled emotionally and spiritually by their constant sexual experiences. In fact, the experience of sex is completely ruined for them because they experience it so much.

Not to even bring up sexually transmitted diseases and their dangers.

LoL. Stealing xbox live? I don't steal that. I also don't consider downloading xbox games stealing. I have no physical property that belongs to others. I do not profit from downloading games.

 

i didnt say live. lol you stealing games and playing them illegally is stealing yet you rationalize its not because you are cheap. I think it is fine, just ironic.

Nothing was rationalized. I just don't think it is stealing because no physical property was taken from someone else. I downloaded 4,000,000,000 1's and 0's onto my hard disk drive.

Every day I go into the store and think to myself "man, I sure would like to have some candy, and I don't feel like buying it. it would be so easy to slip it into my pants pocket, nobody would know". But I don't.

Sometimes I look at pornography too. Being Christian doesn't mean I am a perfect person.
