Actually you suggested that we can't have another major party on the left or right, but we do. I suggest that we need a party in the middle, but that it is unlikely for a new one to emerge. However there is a slight possibility of an existing party moving to the middle. I ain't holding my breath . . .
So we have one guy who appears to be a brown-colored shill for neocons and the former Bush Administration who still think they're experts on the Middle East. Anyone credible?
I don't know many Liberals who watch cable news or listen to talk radio outside of NPR. Cable News panders to the lowest common denominator. The day I stopped watching it (several years ago) I felt smarter almost instantly. It's a curiosity of mine how so many Republicans keep getting elected by people who are voting against their own interests. The average American agrees with Democrat platform issues, but vote Republican anyway. It boggles the mind. I think the GOP is just the loudest and most organized Party. Democrats can't figure out which issue to support.
I don't know how. You have to seek a broad spectrum of news reporting to get the whole picture these days. Sometimes you have to go to BBC or even Al Jazeera to get past partisan spin. Seeing what "the lowest common denominator" sees is important in understanding how they vote or if they show up to vote (see below). They are experts at exploiting the social bias of the middle class to distance themselves from the poor, even though the middle class has almost no economic interests in common with the very rich. Conservatives seem much more subject to groupthink, toeing the party line, and staying on message.
What a lame reply. He is probably more credible than just about anyone else with a microphone. Most of his articles have been published by a magazine owned by the Washington Post....a known liberal entity. He has top notch academic credentials as well as real time experience in that part of the world. He works out of London so WTF does he have to do with Bush or American "neocons"? CNN as used him on more than one occasion to discuss the current situation and others in the ME. You claim to know his ideology, which clearly you don't, but disagreeing with it hardly makes him less credible.
