:geaux: With OU's WR Broyles out for the year, OU's chances of stopping Okie St. are greatly reduced, IMO. Not saying it won't happen, but that's a big offensive weapon they lost. I think that swings the advantage to the Cowpokes in a big way, especially at home. :LSU231:
With all the talk about a rematch from Bama players, they'd better be careful to stay focused. Saban has been clearly agitated with those questions from the media because of the huge distraction potential. They're heading into Starkville this weekend with a lot of banged up players, and it would make State's season to pull off an upset.
This is true, but I fully expect 'Bama to take out some "frustration" on State. They will be motivated to try to play for a rematch and get back to BCS #2 as quickly as possible. Obviously, if they don't make it, Saban's teams have a bit of a history with a let-down when they are in a "let-down" type of Bowl game, cough, Utah, cough.
He's the one that took the greatest beating of any player in the game. He had lots of plays and took a bunch of very hard hits. If anyone in the nation knows how good lsu's defense is it's him. Tr is a trooper. He took a few real hard shots. I wonder if that would affect him any in a rematch? PTSD ?
Like Pollock said, TR is a grown man. That dude took some punishing hits while delivering punishing hits and at the same time on the same carries.
You're neglecting the Bedlam factor here. Even when OSU has a better team they still find a way to lose
that Alabama-LSU game gave CBS its highest regular-season college football rating in 22 years The last time CBS attracted so many viewers for a regular-season college game was 1989, when No. 7 Miami (9-1) defeated No. 1 Notre Dame (11-0) 27-10 in a regular-season finale (the two teams would end up finishing #1 and #2 in the nation that year). In that game, defending national champions Notre Dame had been on a 26-game winning streak and had been ranked #1 for nineteen straight weeks. Miami, on the other hand was 43-3 in their last 46 games, with one loss in 1986 to the eventual national champions Penn State, another loss in 1988 to the eventual national champions Notre Dame, and the third loss to a 1989 Florida State team that finished #3 (behind #2 Notre Dame and #1 Miami). Miami won the national title that year, their second national title in 3 years, and third national title in seven years. i remember where i was at and who i was with the night i watched that game Alabama-LSU gives CBS its highest regular-season college football rating in 22 years | al.com
