I don't think it has anything at all to do with avoiding altercations. You don't violate the rights of people who pose absolutely no threat of altercation. I'm don't know if he supports Obama or not, he may have voted for McCain. Whether it's Obama, his health care package or ACORN, he is obviously protecting the rally from any and all dissent. Hell who knows, maybe he is just a racist that hates white people. Where's Jesse Jackson, surely he will be organizing a rally to condemn the obvious racism shown here?
it is very interesting, i would like to know what comes out of it for sure, its definitely wrong, and a violation of first amendment rights.
If that's the case, dude has a hair trigger. I didn't see anything on the video that led me to believe violence was imminent. Everyone seemed calm and willing to talk.
Also, let's not forget, the woman behind the camera claims the ACORN people were giving the police officer instructions.
If they were not they could have just as easily told the cop she was not hurting anyone and was allowed to ask and answer questions. Only person who did that was the guy in the blue.

I was told by the police (who were told by ACORN ) who I could speak to and where I could stand on the sidewalk. The police officer was told by ACORN to come remove people who were speaking with me... and he did so. The video is not fake and it happened just as you see it. is it possible that ACORN hired the police to work off duty and the guy wore his uniform? Im just trying to make sense out of a clear violation of first amendment rights.
watch the video.... it is very clear that when the first woman crosses the ACORN crowd the lady in the RED ACORN shirt is upset that the police officer let her cross and her arms start directing him to remove her... he then separates the crowds. Each time the police officer came over it was after he was instructed by the ACORN group to do so. I am the woman "behind the camera" ... please go watch the video and comment...
