Verouchi, Here is the link to that Bama video http://content.collegehumor.com/media/movies/bruno2.wmv 1. Texas A&M I guess because the first LSU game I attended was spoiled by Carl Roaches long td reception way back in 1970 or so and because all that cadet crap makes me puke. 2. Florida no explanation necessary. 3. Notre Dame Never has so much been made by so many about so little for so long. 4. Alabama Because they cheat and I hate cheaters. 5. Auburn Because they want to be hated so badly and work at being hated so hard, that by golly I just have to oblige.
Well Glad The Dawgs haven't made yall's hate list yet. We all hate Florida... cause they all have their Spurrier is God attitude and we love to see them loose, even if we don't beat them very regularly... As as Dawg fan... The best road trip ever for me was UGA\LSU 1998. I never met a more paryting group even after a one point loss. They have great fans...
LSUSupaFan and LSUBud are suprisingly the only people who mentioned Tulane as a truly hated opponent... Teams that you have don't have to be threats to us athletically, intellectually, physically, mentally, emotionally, or in any other means to be a hated rival... Tulane is-historically-with good reason a truly hated rival in my mind. I put up with too many of their ilk and their delusions of grandeur to sit idly by while they crow on and on about their imagined athletic successes. They could be 0-10, and have one game to play, and I would not root for them. My worst day was when they were threatening to end their athletics program, in a thinly veiled disguise attempt to extort more money out of an already seemingly non existent and nonsupportive fanbase. To not have Tulane's Athletic teams around to demean, belittle, and absolutely hate would have made our tradition less. It's sad that those traditional, historical rivalries, are going by the wayside because of the competition and talent divide... I mean, think about it people...Some things we don't even realize... Alabama's alma-mater actually mentions Georgia Tech by name, and mentions something about, "sending them to a watery grave." No one remembers that Georgia Tech and Alabama used to have the single, most hated rivalry in the entire SEC. GT dropped out, put an emphasis on education, and then made an athletic renaissance in the ACC. The Alabama connection is all but forgotten amongst their rank and file fans, and precious few others around the nation. That's what's happening to our traditional hated rivals in Tulane University. Does anyone remember that they actually stole Mike The Tiger once? Does anyone remember that it got SO bad between the two schools that a emblamatic quilted embroidered tapestry had to be made at the suggestion of the two school's student bodies to help quell the amount of tomfoolery betwixt the two schools come football season? I would say my top rivalries... 1.) Ole Miss 2.) Tulane 3.) Auburn (Only because of the recent success; otherwise, I'd flip-flop them with # 4... 4.) Alabama (Traditionally more hated than Auburn, but Alabama hasn't been as competitive as they should have been on the whole in the past 6-7 years, and not again for the forseeable future). 5.) UL-L I would say Florida or another conference team because of the fact that they are more competitive than UL-L, but, mark my words, UL-L is about to start feeling its oats with the election of the President of the University's wife to the Governor's Mansion in this state. You're going to see them make a play in the Legislature for more funding, and get to that increase in funding, and you're going to see them put on more and more airs when it comes to their status in the state. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a groundswell from UL-L supporters to achieve dual-flagship status along with LSU... For this oncoming onslaught of absolute asinine thinking amongst their fanbase, as well as their annoying behavior leading up to the Sub-Regional in Smoke's first year, as well as their pompous attitudes going into our mid-April showdown with them in 2000 in baseball (They were #6, we were #4; we both made it to Omaha, and the LSU fans cheered like crazy and took them under their wing as they stayed at the LSU Baseball Official Hotel).... I just dislike them....I don't know about hate just yet...I'll wait to see what their supporters do in the way of detrimental behavior towards the Ole War Skule first...
I never know whether to hate Tulane or feel sorry for them. The thing that gets me the most is the COMPLETE UNDESERVED AND UNMERITED ARROGANCE of their students/alums. They REALLY believe that everyone at LSU sat inpatiently for months at the mailbox just waiting for an acceptance letter for Tulane only to get the "thin envelope" of rejection. I can only guess that they were taught that AT TULANE to try, IN SOME WAY, to justify their COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS AND OUT-OF-LINE (for what you get) TUITION. I don't know ANYONE who was EVER rejected by Tulane. For everyone I knew, an "application" to Tulane would have been a mere formality. To be completely honest, I did apply to Tulane Law School strictly as an "out" school. The only way I would have attended is if (1) I didn't get into any of my "top" schools, (2) Tulane offered a full boat ride, and (3) LSU didn't offer me a dime. I got my acceptence letter two weeks after I applied. Since I got into one of my "top" schools, I didn't even bother applying for financial aid for Tulane.
BTW, to the point at hand. I don't really "hate" any SEC schools. I generally pull for them against all other conferences. Who I pull for when its SEC v. SEC depends entirely on how it affects LSU at that time. The one school I do hate is KANSAS and any school coached by their former COMPLETE SCUMBAG PIECE OF SH!T COACH, Royboy Williams. So, right now, I can't stand UNC either. One day, it's going to catch up with Royboy and the NCAA.
JSracingBBF: You said it for me! We have it made today. We were lucky to see our tigers on the tube once per year. I just remember it always being USC or ND every weekend.
I used to hate Tulane but now whats the point? I hate cockroaches too but I just stomp on them whenever I see one. I can still hate the Tulane baseball team because at least they are worthy of being hated but their pathetic football team isn't even worth thinking about.
ChuckE , I remember the ONLY times LSU would be on TV was when they played someone that GOT respect. We played a tough schedule every year but for some reason the AP sports writers didn't see it that way. I remember one year we played USC and it was telivised. Notre Dame would be telivised if they played dominos. I guess I don't hate OLE MISS like I did when I was younger. I guess it's kind of ironic that by fate I wound up 20 miles from Oxford. When I was in college at USM I said I'd never EVER live anywhere near Ole Miss. I had to eat those words. IF you were around and were an LSU fan back in the Cholly Mac days you HATED Ole MISS then Bama then Tulane. AND the order in which we played them never changed. AND every year brought new hopes of that undefeated season for a NC. Glory Days. we're making new ones, you younger Tigers will remember the Saban years ( as will I ) for years and years. LET the TRADITION Continue! and just for old time sakes I can hear in my memory after a win at Tiger Stadium over OLE MISS 45-0 WE WANT BAMA WE WANT BAMA! and GO TO HELL OLE MISS! JS BTW id any of you wonder why I have such a goofy screen name, click the link below. I have one other hobby besides LSU Football/basketball. http://myweb.cableone.net/jsracing/
