This team will get better with each week. After listening to Saban's responses tonight on his weekly talk show, I'm more confident about the season than ever. However, I really loved his response to a question about pro football. He thinks the talks we have about undefeated season, and all that goes with it, is poison to the team, because it can get players looking ahead and past a current opponent, etc. I feel good about the success of this team. Even if we were 11-1 or 10-2 that is as good as most of us thought going into this season, so anything more is ice cream and cake.
I want to see Mauck and the running game reach another level. To win an MNC, we'll need to continue to get better and enjoy good fortune. I'd love to see it, but 13-0 is ridiculously hard to achieve. Thus, Nick Saban's motto shoudl be ours...one game at a time. It will take 9 more excellent efforts, performances, and fortunate days to reach the unltimate goal, but you have to go one-at-a-time.
South Carolina. Lou Holtz is the best at playing up the underdog angle. They are the most dangerous when no one thinks they can win.
I agree we should take 'em one at a time... But the South Carolina game concerns me because: 1. It's sandwiched between Florida and Auburn, and 2. It's on the road. I feel good about the fact we've proven we can play well on the road and coach S does keep 'em focused, but... :geaux: :lsug:
In Order The next game is always the most important but: In order: 1. Auburn - talent and a chip on their sholder(s) 2. Arkansas - hot and cold and we seem to be their closest rival 3. Ole Miss - they always seem to screw us up 4. Florida - habit 5. South Carolina - that damn "Luck of the Lou" 6. LA Tech - kind of a Miami of ohio type thing. I think we can win them all. If the team stays on the Saban Plan this will be a special year. If they read the press clippings (or the boards) and relax it will be another "what could have been" type thing. :lsug:
