What made the pitching click all of a sudden?

Meier, Mestepay, Determan and Faircloth all started out the season well and slumped in the middle. Dirks started out like a ball of fire then slumped toward the end. Bumstead had a couple of bad starts but he was consistently dependable all year. By tournament time, all but Dirks (and he didn't pitch) were in top form. My point was that Smoke and his staff, like Skip and his staff, spend all season getting the team to peak at this time of year.

Now that you mention it, I do kind of remember hearing something about that. I had completely forgotten about it. This is the time to peak, though, so I commend the job the pitching staff as a whole has done to get here. I think Dirks will give us a good outing, if needed, too.

I agree. It's like J.C. Holt said: At this time of year it's all about the name on the chest.
