Sorry guy. It happened. LSU seemed to be winning easily. Then Mr. Howard threw like three ints and all three were returned for tds.
Houtiger---As I remember the '66 Cotton Bowl----It was a BIG TIME bowl at the time. The pigs showed no respect toward this game. They had an all-american running back that was going to beat LSU probably by himself. LSU kicked off. Mr. All American received the kick off. LSU popped him good. He was slow to get up. Seems as though he received TWO black eyes as a message that the Tigers were here to play. In an interview after the game, he said that he had never been hit that hard in all the years he had played.
Against the dawgs last year when we were getting thrashed and XC downed the ball on the one yard line. At that point I decided we got beat mentally and physically. It is also the only LSU footballgame I left before the clock ran out. I left when it was first and ten on the one.
I would have to say that the UAB game where the "QB" (if that is what you want to call him) thought he was smarter than the coach decided to change the fricken play and promptly threw a pick which led to the game winning fg.
Auburn 04... When they shanked the extra point to keep the game tied, i went nuts... and of course, the bad one came two seconds later when they called that bull**** penalty...
I'm not sure what lose it means. Lose your mind of lose your lunch...... :yelwink2: But anyway, I'll stick with games I attended. The 2-3 most exciting for me was the 1972 LSU 17- Ole Miss Football Game, (I was a freshman) & the 1985 LSU- Memphis State Basketball Playoff game we won in the last second & of course the Earthquake game. Most upset was the USC football game in '79 and the 3-0 loss to Alabama in the rain (79) when they were highly ranked & we weren't, but also the 44-3 loss to Miami in the rain in '88. But the time I lost it was at the 1982 at the Florida St. game in the fog. Guys in front of me were throwing oranges on the field from the upper south end zone. I almost had to be carried off I was so angry at them!
Auburn 10 - LSU 9...blown call. Heavy drinking. And 1998 in the Swamp, directly beneath the student section.
Im surprised I haven't had a heart attack with some of the crazy games over the year. Oregon State was tough to watch...I remember that kids last PAT attempt and saying to myself, he missed the other one... Best:Bluegrass Miracle was a whirl of emotions. I was there and those UK fans were sure we LSU would lose but, we all know what happened next and of course, the Warren Morris homer to win in Omaha. We were looking grim in the middle so my mom went grocery shopping. When she left we came back and from that point on, mom has to watch the games by herself while me and dad pretty much close off the living room.:hihi: Worst games to watch that pretty much got me super depressed... Auburn in '04 and when Alabama shut LSU out in Tiger Stadium 31-0. I think i teared up for that one.
Good -- Tie between Warren Morris' homerun and the resulting dog pile in my buddy's apartment on Nicholson and Lionel Turner sacking White at the end of the NC game. Vision got really blurry both times. Bad -- Inexplicably, it was the SECCG v. Tennessee in '01. Sure, we won the game, but at the time, I was convinced it was the worst officiated game in the history of organized sports. I was so enraged for a solid 90% of that game, that I was leaving voice mails at the SEC offices in Birmingham, imploring them to fire the staff and replay the game. Then we won, and I was exhausted.
Best - Warren Morris homerun no doubt. I was watching the game with some friends, and I remember getting so upset during the middle of that game when we started committed all those errors to let Miami back in the game. I was so pissed that I had to go outside and walk around. I then come back in a little later and they said we're coming back, and they think because I left the room is the reason we started scoring. So I have to watch the rest of the game from the kitchen (I could see the TV in the living room from a distance). They wouldn't even let me in the room when wilson hit the lead off double. When Morris hit that homer I came into the room going nuts and everybody was jumping up like crazy.
