No way they can move it to a neutral site I'd think. The reasonable thing to do would be go ahead and schedule it Nov. 6. I saw where one vote said cancel it. Looks like ole wing-nut slipped in a vote on us.
I voted to go ahead and play the game in sloppy conditions as long as no one can be hurt. The only thing we have missed in this LSU/AU game is a mud bowl. Just IMHO........
The idea isn't about a Saturday game being in danger at this point. There is no need to play the game at a neutral site if it is to take place as scheduled. Even remnants of win and rain from Ivan are not a big deal. BUT....the fan bases of the two teams are evacuating their states! The schools have cancelled classes for the week. Once the evacuees decide to come home (think gameday!), the interstates will be a mess like they are now. ALSO, people will likely DIE from this storm. Property will be distroyed! Pain and anguish will affect many unfortunate people. SO, why in the world would anyone think it makes sense to play a football game that can easily moved to November 6th? Because it is better for Auburn's team than it is for LSU's team. And, should that matter when LA, MS, AL, and even FL are in a STATE OF EMERGENCY? Get real..move the game.
IMO, this game won't be played Saturday. As it looks this morning, Alabama will get the brunt of Ivan. To complicate matters, it appears Ivan will stall out over northern Alabama and linger throughout the weekend ... massive flooding is very possible. Law enforcement, as well as EMS, will not be able to assist Auburn on gameday ... they'll be too busy tending to other needs. No way we play...
Wesfau, that's a totally ridiculous statement. Obviously you've never endured the wrath and destruction involved with a hurricane, much less at Category 4 or 5 storm. This storm alone has already killed nearly 70 people and inflicted millions of dollars in damage. Now, when it hits the Gulf Coast people will lose homes, businesses and some will likely lose their lives. Power outages will be widespread and likely even water and sewage will also be affected. Look, I love football as much as anyone but at times like these football takes a back seat.
