Why you lil foul-mouth. (I know it's you Okie). Yes he does. Don't let him off the hook either.
i have a few rituals. including, but not limited to... i start with a corndog for breakfast. something i started in 07 as embracing a taunt because not only was it silly, it wasnt even an original "insult". kinda a way of making fun of the barners for being so lame. never taunt a good coonass with food, they will just eat it. lol. anyway, we won, i kept doing it, and it became ritual. and it's funny, i know a lot of people that have the same ritual! i text "geaux" to three, and only the same three, friends every game, and they text back "tigers". one friend gets nervous when she doesnt get my text. another is one i tailgate with, and we can be standing next to each other, but we know they have to get that text! the third has been one that i text since 07. one of the best fans i know and i wouldnt dare leave her out! another friend, one that has the same corndog ritual, has the same text ritual. but they send me the "geaux" and i reply "tigers". yes, i am a "traditionalist".
If we are not at the game, Cajinkid and I have two small flags hanging from the fireplace mantle and 4 of his LSU hats spread across the entertainment center. We also have the schedule we got this year at fan day on a small rocking chair in the corner. Oh and the autograph football signed by all the QB's & DB's from this years fan day on the mantle. My living room is pretty big so we pull the furniture closer to the TV and it has to be in the same order every game. We catch hell from mom for rearranging the house but it is worth it.:geaux:
I'm on the receiving end of Okie's gameday text--it's crucial! I will be wearing my "old school" LSU t-shirt; it has a good record. I never wear the purple shirt I was wearing at the LSU/Arkansas game in '07. Oh, and my toenails must be painted purple on gameday.
I never verbally make statements like, "We are going to slaughter these sons of bitches!" or "they do not have a chance!", because we always seem to lose or barely win. Stopped doing it after Kentucky in 2007. I wholeheartedly believe in jinxing.
We pick our battles and fight with the heart of a pit bull You missed that part, lsutiga. I know it is hard to read.
I have to get heartburn on game day. I get rid of the heart burn by eating GD Chos which is drunk for game day nachos. I put lots of japapeno's on the nachos to fight the heart burn. Also if I am on campus I like to shot gun 7 beers as I walk between Coats and Allen Halls. I usually stop in Lockett to throw up.
Start with the LSU flag out in the morning. Of course, I have to wear LSU gear the whole day. Big games mean specific shirts. Very big games mean I bring out my 'Golden Boy' shirt. (Yes, I stole the name from....) Some years Golden Boy never comes out of the drawer. It is a very old, very cheap LSU shirt and I can't remember the orgin. But I noticed about 10 years ago that it had magical powers. Next tradition will cause many of you to call me out as not a true LSU fan. But I think the effect binds my watching parties at home even closer to the Tigers on the field...... No Beer is served after kickoff until the Tigers score their first TD. This tradition made for some painful games last year!
