DallasLSU - I am not sure I can blame the plastic bottle throwers (let's clarify that) in the Superdome the night of the Sugar Bowl. The constant disrespect of LSU was overwhelming to me from these media guys. I have never felt so much anger towards anybody in the media, and it culminated with that event. Was it right? Not at all. But neither was the disrespect shown to us by "non-biased" commentators. Two wrongs dont make a right, but at least that night they knew just how pissed off some LSU fans were.
Wow...I guess it is true what people say. You have to get away from the situation in order to see the truth. I don't look down my nose at anyone. I'm stating a fact. My home state is last in everything! I hate that fact. I wish something could be done, but the people of Louisiana are content with where they are. Until we stop drawing lines in the sand, we will never move forward. You really must get away to see how backwards things are at home. Sorry..It is a sad fact, but true. I'm sure you and everyone else is going to blast away here, but you have no way of understanding what I am talking about...You have never lived anywhere else.
And for the people that say Louisiana is not thought of as the Joke of our country, please....People like the cajun culture and atmosphere...Shoot, I LOVE IT! But when it comes to everything else, we are the joke of everyone...We are last in everything!!!! It is a fact!!! People compare us with Mississippi for goodness sake?!?!?!
Quit generalizing man. How many people are you talking about. Have you taken a poll? Have you been everywhere? You think Texas is the place to be for forward thinking people? I've traveled all over the country for the past 11 years. I don't get the feeling that we are thought of in any more negative terms than any other state. I agree there are plenty of areas where we need to progress but it's not going to happen when working people like you leave the state. Again, you can deny it but your words speak loud and clear. I seriously doubt that you defend our state when (and if) the subjects of education, employment, health care, etc. come up. You undoubtedly nod and agree while bashing the residents of your prior home. Don't lie. It's obvious.
wow? You lump us in to being last in everything? How ridiculous is that? Nice generalization. If you really cared so much about this state you wouldn't leave the state then talk about how it needs to change. You are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. Are there many issues we rank low in nationwide? of course. The facts are this state has improved gradually in many of these rankings over the last decade. Have you looked any of these up? Do you just assume you know the facts? Keep classifying La people as ignorant and uninformed and keep your distance so you can see the truth. I won't call you a name....you have done far more on your own.
One question? I don't care whether you go to school in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans, Ruston, or if you go to McNeese------when the players from Ole Miss, MSU, Ala., Aubarn, Tenn., Fla. etc step on the playing field, don't you think they know the difference? Until you step up with the big boys (and there is no way for you to do that) you are still going to be a flash in the pan even in your best years. Maybe your academics could become something to envy, but there is just no way in sports. For example...two or three years ago, Mississippi Delta won a national championship for their division. Did they start screaming that they could have won the SEC? Not hardly. I would rather ( in my youth) face the biggest bad butt from ULL than the guy that was a mistake in recruiting and just would never work out for LSU.
I'm beginning to seriously doubt that more and more with each post you put up. You already have...several times in this thread.
If we're such a joke, then keep your ass in Dallas, and quit worrying about us. You're not missed here, nor will you be.
I support all state teams until they paly LSU. And I don't care who or what they say about LSU I still support state schools so no one comment will sway my opinion. I even have a cap from most of the schools and wear them on occasion especially if they are playing like ULL in the NCAA's.
DallasTiger Probably the biggest mistake you're making is judging what people in Texas have to say about their state vs Louisiana. One thing I've learned about Texans, Floridians, Californians.....no such thing as a bigger group of self referenced criteria, egotistical, and proud people of their state. To those residents, there's no such thing thing as a "better state" or "better place to live". This is especiallyso in Texas. Like a poster posted up above, I've lived in Denver Colorado and when I told people I'm from Louisiana and that LSU is my team, I got nothing but positive response back. And positive response even after Abdul Raouf (Chris Jackson) pulled the stunt he did with the Nuggets. And these are people from the beautiful state of Colorado, not plain 'ole Texas. Texans are going to talk bad about anybody in this country, it's something you get used to. I think you place too much stock in it, personally.
