USC, 79 The largest crowd in Tiger Stadium history ! Also the loudest. I don't care about "official" attendance figures. Back then, EVERY student who wanted to go went to the game. Also, there were THOUSANDS of non-students in the student section thanks to duplicate IDs and passing IDs back. That night, the student section was wall to wall, top to bottom standing/squeezing room only. The loudest cheer of the night was a few moments after the ball went through Willie Turner's (I think) hands and the Tigers were walking off the field. Their heads were held high, knowing that they whipped USC's ass. BTW, that facemask was such BS ! That was on a fourth down play - game over, except for the ref.... Oh well , it was USC....maybe, just maybe, we can pay them back at the Rose Bowl. Speaking of loud, I have been to a USC game, and it is the absolute most lame atomsphere of any "big time" school. I say this without fear of contradiction - even from USC fans. Stadium sucks, atmosphere sucks, tailgating sucks. I went there remembering all those ABC telecasts of USC from when I was growing up, with Keith Jackson describing how great USC was - what a joke !
Without a doubt, the '79 USuCks game...pandemonium from begining to end. Yes, we were hosed big time by the zebras. I think they were from the Big 10 and their heads were full of that Charles White, Brad Budde USC bullcrap that the media always puts out. Fact is, we whipped their asses then, and we'll do it again this year. This time, the scoreboard will say it also! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!! ldskule:  :thumb: :usaflagwa :911:
There is a great story about the 1979 USC game. During the FBI sting, "BriLab", the informant/plant asked Carlos Marcello for tickets to the game. The alleged Mafia boss could not come up with any tickets!
