One of the best things about being a Tiger fan is there are a lot of games to choose from. One of my personal favorites was the LSU/Ohio St game in 1987. It was a day game and I remember the Ohio St. QB (Tom Tupa?) called a timeout on the first play from scrimmage because his players couldn't hear the signals. When he came back to the line of course the crowd was much louder. Although the game ended in a tie score, I'll never forget the crowd noise. I'm getting pumped up. I can't wait for the season to begin so that we can add to the memories.
loudest moments: the second half of the bring back the magic game against auburn '95 tommy banks scoring 2nd TD of '97 fla game toefield down sidelines against tenn (the ot game) and two words: Skyler Green!!!!!!!!! (UGa 03)
So many, but gotta call the top a tie. Florida 97 & UGA 03! To close to call. Florida, we were beating bleacher seats on the bleachers in the last 2 min's because our voices were gone. We were actually in the West Upper for both games. It never seems to get as loud up there; those two games hower...white noise, just saw lips moving everthing else was just noise, chaotic noise!
'88 Auburn game '97 Florida game '03 UGA game I wasn't there for '79 USC game... a little b4 my time... i do remember watching the '86 (?)(Ohio State game) when we were both top 10 teams when i was a kid and remember how loud it seemed on TV, and then the damn thing ended in a tie...how anticlimatic... if things go as planned, i imagine we might be putting in the UT game as richter reader! GEAUX TIGAS!
Lots of great memories, many mentioned, but a few left off... 1982 FSU orange/fog game 2001 4th qtr comeback against MSU (the week B4 or after the Tennessee OT game, but just as exciting; MSU was a top 20 team at the time, and we came damn close to losing; an unbelievable 4th quarter comeback, and part of one of the most exciting tiger seasons ever.) 2001 Tennessee game 2001 BAMA game (first win in BR in 30 yrs.) 1997 (?) Auburn Cecil Collins coming out (even though we lost, the 4th qtr was electric... 8 p.m. ESPN start) 1997 Florida 'nuff said 2003 UGA 'nuff said 1983 Washington (record crowd for previous stadium config.(it was standing room only for the entire N endzone curve) 1987 Ohio State... previously mentioned by others; I also remeber this game vividly. I was living in Hatcher dorm, and can remember how beautiful the day was, and how loud the crowd was pre-game. I listened to the second half from my dorm room, b/c my date was getting frisky (hey, we all have our weaknesses).
I agree with red. The loudest moment I've witnessed is the earthquake of hodson to fuller on the 3rd try. Auburn-LSU 1988. But the 79 USC & the 73 ole miss were up there. I missed the 03 georgia, but my daughter let me experience it by cell phone, Go Tigers!
cool - I was there for all but the 1979 and the 1972. I would have to ut the 2003 GA game up there, as well. The 2000 Ms State game that went to OT was loud, as well. That was the last year MS State was worth a ****.
2000 Tenn game. After the 4th quarter ended and the teams were getting ready for overtime, the fans started chanting "Here we go, Tigers here we go" and them stomping on the bleachers twice. So the stadium was quiet except for this "Here we go Tigers, here we go" BOOM BOOM. It sounded like thunder. I had goosebumps then, and I have goosebumps thinking about it now.
