Are the spider legs made of plastic or metal? Are the lengths of the tubes random, or are they specific?

They look metal and oily but not off of a car so... what about an engine or motor?

flexible corrugated pipe normally found in the pulmonary care ward of a hospital. I don't know for sure if the lengths are random but for it to function as the object that it is I would imagine that the lengths are specifically different according to a specified pattern.

Are the wood parts solid or hollow?

A primitive pneumothorax device for draining fluid filled lungs. (Alternate answer: something my brother, Steve, uses to self treat colon blockage.)

The wood parts are hollow. Even though the object is constructed with surgical tubing the object itself has no medical use or function nor is it used to cause blood to spill.
