    No.

    Here are the clues so far

    1. attaches to a boat.
    2. goes into the water
    3. Could damage the transom if not used properly
    4. Cannot be used on a boat with an outboard engine

    I should probably just say what it is. The issue is you guys probably don't realize this exists. I'll post the answer in a few minutes if anyone wants to get a last second guess in.

    yep, Malibu boats came up with this concept years ago to help improve the size of a boat's wake so that wakeboarders could get more air. It's basically used as a drag on the boat that digs the back of the boat into the water. Early models were all manual and if you forgot to put it up after skiing, you could rip it off of your transom. Can't work with outboards because it sits where the outboard motor would sit. Newer models are electronic and I'm sure they have mechanisms in place for not letting you rip it off.

    It clearly could go between two outboard motors on a wide boat

    and clearly noone wakeboards on a boat with two outboard motors
