    No, but air does pass through it.

    While "poking" is its main function, it is not used on people... even if they are from NYC

    Hmm, it is used for poking something and air passes through it. Does a taxidermist or someone else use it to pump air under the skin of animals when cleaning them?

    Will leather covered objects that may be spheroid or round go further or bounce higher after being inflated with helium instead of air which passes through it ??

    Does this instrument affect the spheriodosity or roundliness said leather covered objects ?

    Not a needle for a ball. Its for letting air out of a particular 'object', not putting air in.
