Absolutely great way to battle and get the win no matter what. Many teams, ole miss being one, would have folded their tent and gone home after the first inning but not the Tigers despite some poor play in the field and Bumsteads worse game of the season by far. Bumstead, except for the wildness, actually had some damn good stuff today. They really never got a good whack at him. And of course 2 blunders in the infield cost him 5 unearned runs. Great news is that we can go to him tomorrow or Sunday if need be. So it was a win-win situation as far as that goes.
You're joking right? :hihi: :hihi: Except for the fact that he couldn't find the plate he pitched a good game? :rofl: :rofl: 41 pitches in 2/3 inning walked the first 2 batters he faced before the botched DP by Gill gave up 3 straight base hits before being pulled add in the fact that he botched a probable inning ending DP himself. Bumstead had a horrible game and I think he would tell you the same. However he has been a really good pitcher all season long and I wouldn't expect to see him struggle like that ever again. It also shows that this team has a lot more heart than many people thought during some of the regular season. Watching your starter struggle like he did and still being able to hang in there and get the win says a ton.
