1. yes it was initially studied and discovered by some ukrane and russian scientists.
  2. i

bought a paperback copy of this for maybe 50 cents and finally read it start to finish. it is really terrific and i love it. it is incredible how cheap you can get entertained for. this is a wonderful world we live in.
  3. Interesting. Is there anything in it about Capitalization?
  4. Amazing how that works, ain't it?

I haven't read this book, tirk, but I'm a little wary. Processes like plate tectonics and the geologic impossibility of oil existing within granite possess a preponderance of scientific evidence. It will take a lot more than a "simple and plausible" supposition to unseat them. It will take rigorous scientific examination.

Gold is a very distinguished scientist and he has been promoting this "ambiogenesis" theory since the 1970's. His colleagues take him seriously, but note that his scientific argument doesn't match his rhetorical effectiveness.

Moreover, petroleum geology is the most lavishly funded scientific research program in history. Why would oil companies spend so much money gathering geologic data only to skew it by interpreting it according to questionable theory? Surely, if there were even a possiblity that oil was generated in some other way, someone would have discovered it by now? The avarice of the oil companies would lead them there quickly if it were true.

Like cold fusion, ambiogenesis is an immensely interesting and revolutionary theory that would have great potential for improving our lives. It just can't be substantiated from the evidence that exists.

But I will read his book. Warily.

  5. im skeptical by nature yet I think even you will understand the big picture once its laid out in your head. its quite thought provoking without confusing you just to blind you to whats being said in hopes of believing it.

give it a read. its very good.

yeah i kept my copy. I love baseball books anyhow.
  6. yeah, it said capitalization is entirely unnecessary and praises the modern trailblazers who are leaving it behind. also it mentioned that those who find it difficult to read words without capitalization might have a mild learning disability.

  7. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
  8. in the last couple months I have read

    Moneyball
    Scouts Honor
    Built to Win
    Tales From the Braves Mound
Rob Neyers big book of Baseball Blunders

got a few on the way

Twice around the bases by kevin kennedy, science of hitting by ted williams, and the physics of baseball.

  9. you're more unbalanced than me. not only baseball books but ate up with the braves. I glanced over the physics of baseball that someone had. Its pretty interesting. anything by ted williams has to be golden.

I read nolan ryan's first book a few years back. He should have refrained from writing since he comes across as a prick.
  10. well I want to work in a MLB FO some day, and I figure Scheurholz and the Braves ain't a bad example to learn from.
