Everybody has something to hide. But politicians benefit from openness.

Most voters want their politicians to be more open and honest and have nothing to hide. It's a tough standard, but it is expected in a Presidential candidate.

How very good for you! Most voters do give a fuck and they equate evasion on these subjects with deception.

It's a shame that you think most voters are too dumb to realize personal finances and lies you put on your college application don't impact how you will operate. I think most voters are smarter than that.

It's a matter of evaluating honesty. Honesty is something voters rate very highly in a Presidential candidate. And you are right, a few bruises on college transcripts, minor whoppers on vita's, and embarrassing disclosures regarding how much one has sheltered money in the Cayman islands are things that many voters may be willing to forgive. But evasion and lying about it evoke dishonesty, which can be a campaign-killer.

We already established that Romney has released two tax returns.

So stop acting as if he's released none at all.
