They've only been in the Big Ten since '93. They were an independant before that.

Yeah, we have the most undefeated seasons without actual national titles also (though, of course, the further you get back in time, the more disputed MNCs become), I do believe (including 1994 where even the other Big Ten coaches did not vote for PSU to be NC that year....shafted!)

    1994: 12-0
    1986: 12-0 National Championship
(1982 National Championship, but not undefeated)
    1973: 12-0
    1969: 11-0
    1968: 11-0
    1912: 8-0

Including several other undefeated regular seasons.

    dont forget

1990 Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State all won the conference.

it was really balanced that year.

cmon big 11 fans, thats embarassing even for the fans.

1998 Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin

    2000 Michigan, Northwestern and Purdue

    make it stop.

I don't even have to read the rest of this term paper post (and I'm not) to know you didn't even read my follow up post.

How about read that, then come back to me with a more civilized answer. Thanks.

Nothing we can do. NCAA says you have to have 12 teams to have a championship game. Notre Dame won't join because they get a free $17 Million when people vote them into BCS games (and frankly, my patience is already running thin when I have to pull for Michigan in bowl games...don't think I can pull for Notre Dame too).

So unless the Big East wants to dissolve and give us Louisville, Rutgers, and/or West Virginia....I don't think much is going to happen.

(By the way...drool....a 14-team conference with those teams...)

For that to happen, the BCS would have to require the automatic-berth teams to have conference championships and the NCAA would have to keep the 12-team rule.

Psssst....I have a secret to tell you. There are OTHER teams playing ball in that region of the country. (see map below)

There are only 3 MAC teams I could see...Akron, Ohio (if Solich greatly/continues to improves Ohio), and Central Michigan. I and others would really prefer to not have a MAC team.

psulions2007, actually I did read your ridiculous follow up post, even before I posted mine. But like anybody else with a brain, I realized you are just trying to make yourself look less like a complete moron in your second post by saying you were not saying what in fact you were saying in your first post.

Here is what you said in your first post, which made you look like a complete moron:

"Um..the SEC owned the Big Ten? You guys realize that the Big Ten went 2-1 against SEC teams in bowl games this year, right?
Including Big Ten #3 Wisconsin beating SEC #2 Arkansas, right?

    Just checkin'."

And this is your reply in your second post after people have called you out on being a moron:

"No, I am not. I never said "The Big Ten is BETTER THAN THE SEC because we went 2-1 against them this year in bowl games!!!"

I'm sorry, but please don't try to deny the ignorant statements you first posted, because anybody can just go to the first page and see what you posted. I'm not making any of this up, you posted this absurdity, so at least have the guts to back it up instead of denying it.

I still fail to see where I said that the Big Ten is better than the SEC.

You obviously lack at reading comprehension.

    Addendum:

This was the key part to that follow up post that you conveniently left out:

Never Never said that. I was trying to make the point to several people on here when they are saying "The SEC owned! the Big Ten" based off of 1 bowl win in OSU v. UF. It's really a two-way street, pal.
