Because it takes money out of the private sector and gives it to the government for starters. It is the beginning of socialization also. Show me evidence that ANY government program can run more efficiently than a private program or company. OK, so here is part of the problem we have in this country today. While I do acknowledge there is greed in the private sector there is just as much greed and corruption in politics and the government. The government gets a pass from all of this while people attack private citizens and the private sector. I think things are way out of proportion here. Do you realize how much greed, money would be made by politicians and the government with a public option whether or not the private sector would exist? You think there are problems in the government now with lobbyists and politicians? This is because the post office doesn't have to make money. The post office is subsidized by tax payers. You may not have a problem with it but at some point you may get tired of paying taxes for failing government programs. Trust me, you don't want your health care run like the post office or the VA! Maybe or maybe not, time will tell. Most people are against Obama care, make what you will out of it. It is alarming to me that these Libs are so intent on passing something most people polling are against. If only conservatives had these kind of balls the world would be a better place. To the best of my knowledge yes and I don't think you have the private option in most of those countries or if you do its more expensive than the government. That is why Canadians come to America for medical procedures. There system won't treat them or it takes too long to receive treatment. I don't want government run health care or government run anything if I can help it and I don't care who is president or who is in power. I've been to the VA a few times and have seen and heard my share of stories. Edit: I believe the public option and government health care will be more expensive than their projections and it will cost the tax payer more money than their private insurance because the tax payer will have to pay for those who can't afford insurance including Illegals. If you don't mind giving more money to the government, fine!
I defended Bush (and still do) on his National Security policies. His economic policies were a disaster, but Obama was elected to change things. What has he done to correct the problems? I'll tell you. Not a GD thing. He has, however, enacted programs and proposed many others that will increase the deficit to historic, unsustainable levels yet everybody wants to blame Bush while Obama fushes us down the toilet. YOU CANNOT SPEND MONEY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE no matter how noble the cause! This is not a terribly complicated thing to see. Get over Bush. He's gone and can inflict no further damage. Obama can and will. You are blinded by the light of the chosen one. I can only try to help you see.

Wow. And what do you think you'll get from the government in return. Your money will be redistributed. Can't you see that? Work to reduce the amount you have to give to your health carrier and things will improve. Let the government decide and it's toilet city.
Yeah but don't we give them money anyway? Do you know where your tax dollars go? I sure as hell don't. All i would get from Blue Cross Blue Shield is a big denial when i really need them, or a nice letter telling me how i owe them more, or that they wont cover my child or some crap like that.
