We are not getting Herman, he says he likes were he is. I know money talks but if he is successful at Houston and his family is happy, it will be hard to pull him away.
As far as Herman, he might would leave UH but if UT or am also are knocking on his door, he will not pick LSU, unfortunately. Another thing to consider is maybe he would stay at UH and help get them into the Big 12. But I think if a bigger school with lots of recruiting clout came knocking then he can't pass it up.
Herman recruited every player on Houston's roster within 35 miles of the university. He didn't even have to get on a plane to recruit. And he was not signing the cream of the crop. Those 4 and 5 stars went to Texas, aTm and (cough, cough) LSU. If Houston got into the Big 12 he would start getting the blueblood recruits interested. He could build a dynasty at Houston if they can afford to keep him. Houston now is like Miami before 1983 and with as good a base of talent as South Florida.
Actually, I think they DID open up the offense.... the run to pass ratio tells us that. But that's only a small part of the big problem: the plays, themselves, didn't change.... this offense remains too simple to outwit anybody. Cam is a sham.
Playing from behind and getting destroyed at the LOS will cause you to need to throw more. I don't buy that shit that they "tried" to open it up more at all.
You can't open up the offense when your QB can't hit a 10 yd pass consistently. You go 3 and out with no time being taken off the clock. A very average QB could run this offense. You just have to have balance to open up the run game and let LF7 do his thing. That means hitting simple passes so the D can't just load the box and stop run and dare BH to pass. Now if you want to see zone read and option and rolling QB passes and bootlegs, maybe that would help keep defenses off balance some but with the ineptitude of BH it will yield the same results IMO. I think the offense is simplified for BH. He can't read defenses, can't go thru progressions, panics and makes dumb decisions. Do we really think that putting the ball into his hands more will magically change him or this offense.
