    Re: TE IS GREAT!!

i agree. Dickson is likely the most underused player that has the most potential. he has good hands, great field awareness, and pushes hard once the ball is in his hands and protected. so far this year, he's had 16 receptions for 162 yards*. he could be one of our best if they used him more.

    FRESHMAN SEASON (2006)
Named a honorable mention Freshman All-American by the Sporting News as well as a second-team All-SEC pick by the league’s coaches ... Took over as the starter at tight end after Keith Zinger went down with a season-ending injury during the first month of the season ... Excelled at the position, starting nine of the Tigers’ 13 games as a true freshman ... Caught six passes for 96 yards ... Had a career-high two catches in the Tigers’ win over Tennessee ... Pulled in a career-long 55-yard pass against Mississippi State.
    HIGH SCHOOL
Arguably, the No. 1 two-way player in the state of Mississippi ... Saw action as a tight end and defensive end ... The only player from Mississippi to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl ... Caught 39 passes for 523 yards and five touchdowns in 2005 ... Earned 2005 all-state honors on defense with 90 tackles and eight sacks ... Led his team to a 2004 Class 5A Championship appearance with 92 tackles, 15 sacks and three picks on defense and 23 catches for 399 yards and six touchdowns on offense ... Named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super Southern 100, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen, the Mobile Register Super Southeast 120 and the Orlando Sentinel All-Southern Team ... Father played at Mississippi State in the 1970s ... Coached by Steve Jones.

hopefully steltz and mccray will share duty for DJ Hall. i think they definitely have the talent to whack his routes or otherwise stop him and minimize his impact.

They probably will have no choice but to cover Hall. Since Pellini doesn't move his CB's from sides of the field DJ will probably be lined up in the slot a lot. Which at that point you will have to decide if you want to cover him with a LB or a safety. My guess is a safety. He's too fast for a LB.

I expect Bama's offense to do a lot what it did against Tennessee and force one on one situations with spreading the field with four and five wr sets.

With Early healthy I don't see your corners as a problem for our receivers.

You are right about the power running game but we also have the backs with speed to take it to the house from any were on the field. This IMO is where we win the game. Late in the game there will be some big running opportunities for us. Our O-line might not be the greatest at pass blocking but they are very good at run blocking. Even if we get down we will not stop running the ball because we can quick stike from a running play or screen pass.

Unless Steltz plays up on Brown and jams him at the line (which y'all do not routinely do) there's no way in hell he can keep up with Brown. That's not a flame but simply the truth.

I think Castille can handle Doucet. Will he shut him down? Probably not but he'll have his work cut out for him against Castille. We've struggled in getting a pass rush and stopping the power running game. Our saving grace could be the right side of y'alls O-line. Don't mean to flame but #71 is bad. I watched it from very first game when Titus Brown beat him like a rented mule for the entire game and he hasn't got much better since.

I'm sure Saban will probably test this real early and overload that side of the formation and try to force Crowton's hand by making him keep a rb in and helping out or bringing in a TE for extra blocking support which eliminates one wr in a passing a pattern.

Same ole same, Nick is a blitzing Maniac, I think Matt will get pressured a lot, we just have to pick it up when it comes.

I bet we,re gonna see the Tigers hit quite a few big gains rushing the ball and some controlled shoert ot med range passes. They,ll use the pass to set up the run.
