Point being even with the interception, to say Les should pull JJ after having almost going down the field for 3 straight TDs, while Lee had 3 possessions against Bama with 0 points to show for it is indeed disingenuous. That was my only point. I don't think JJ is a superstar. He is far from it. He does, however, give LSU their best chance at succeeding on offense. Not to say we can't succeed on offense with Lee, much to the contrary, we did for the first 8 games of the season. But ultimately, with better defenses getting QBs rattled going into these last 2 games, you put the guy who can handle the pressure the best. That would be Jefferson at this point.
This well deserves discussion by faithful LSU fans. Note that I was one of the very very very very very very few people (remember the "sunshine pumpers"?)vigorously defending Les Miles in these forums 2 and 3 years ago when so many were cussing him out. Les has either screwed JL over royally OR he miscalculated by not announcing JL is having reduced minutes due to some unnamed infraction.
I doubt seriously Les has a vendetta against a QB who saved his season early on in the year. Les made the VERY difficult decision to go with Jefferson over Lee. He saw the deer in the headlights look that Lee had in the Bama game. He saw that same look in the 2008 season. We don't know what practices are like. Maybe JJ is giving the LSU defense fits and Lee is throwing interceptions by improperly reading the defense and/or feeling the pressure coming.
Something like this--something we don't know about, is the only possible thing that can excuse what Les has done. Otherwise, JL is 8-0 and you don't get benched for the rest of your career for one bad game.
Yeah, something like the guy who makes 4 million dollars a year knows a little mote than a bunch of internet message boarders.
It would have gone either way. Had JJ never got a shot to return to the starting lineup, same thing. You can't win in this situation. Well actually you can. 12-0.
Having to worry about one QB's feelings and being 12-0 right now is not such a bad thing. Having the wrong one play and being 10-2 is much worse...
Valid point. Les is known as a player's coach so one can only hope there are things going on we dont know about.
No doubt. This is an extraordinary season. Doesnt preclude questions of fairness though. JL has been through a lot of abuse, survived it, bailed us out and salvaged this season. I have no problem voicing unease with how he is being treated. And the booing fans show others also have concerns.
