What does it mean to be conservative and Republican today?

Maybe yesterday’s election began to show us what isn’t conservative. Disagreement with a Supreme Court ruling is one thing, refusing to acknowledge that a SCOTUS ruling is the last word on a law’s meaning is not. Being a racist xenophobe is not. Having a deep faith and religious outlook can be. Using religion to divide isn’t.
Moore, Bannon and Trump are not conservative.......too few are.

The mainstream Republicans are secretly glad Moore lost because senator Moore would have wreaked havoc on their credibility.

That would have been bad for the country.

You’re certainly right. The republicans have shat all over themselves. Trump is what I’ve said he is and Ryan, McConnell and their crew have been cowardly inept and brain dead.

Let's not confuse Republican with conservative or for Trump being either.
Mainly he is not establishment and we are so in need of that it's not funny.
Establishment got us where we are. More establishment will not get us out

What’s funny to me is I’ve been begging for a non establishment president for years and when I get one finally, it’s god damn Donald Trump.

The problem is what non-establishment potential candidate would have Trump type money to finance his campaign.

There are 540 billionaires in the United States, with a combined net worth of $2.399 trillion, according to our 2016 list of the world's richest people. That's more billionaires and more combined net worth than any other nation in the world. Mar 5, 2016

 he'd have to be one of the 540, I suppose.
