    As a true fan, I say . . .

Yesterday's game is "What Was". As such, it's no longer something that is important for us to comment on.

Right now, we need to focus on "What Is". "What Is" is hiring a great coach for the Defending National Champ LSU Tigers and giving him three years to prove what he can do.

What to take away from this game: What's next for LSU? The season couldn't have ended in more painful fashion, but the play of JaMarcus Russell, the running of Alley Broussard, and the playmaking by the receivers have to make LSU fans sky high for 2005. Get over this loss. In the end, it doesn't matter for a program that wants to play for national titles.

    Saban's Loss

Just MHO, but I think this loss will stay with Saban moreso than any other win in his tenure. This was a blown loss, with him and his staff being outcoached throughout the game. He may never admit this, but I think he realizes, that there was a major distraction, not only with players, but with his coaching staff as well, not having their heart in it completely all week. Face it, it is human nature to wonder where they will get their next paycheck in five days.

As a fierce competetor that he is, he will always look back at the legacy he left here, and this game will be the first to come to mind. I thank him for what he has done for us, but sure hate to see him go.

    LSU being outcoached?

While I think LSU was outcoached by Iowa, Iowa's coaches also did not have their best game...22 seconds with two timeouts and we only get off one play, now that is sad...
