I agree. None the less, no matter how much financial knowledge a person has, there is a certain amount of money that is required to live & work. If a person's annual earnings are no higher than this amount, no financial knowledge in the world will help them.

You are now arguing a completely different point. If you want to argue that taxation rates are too high, then I will be with you 100%. The question here is whether it is fair that people make money without working & pay a lower percentage to the government than people that work for their money?

it is not their place to be productive or work for "it". it is their place and yours to take advantage of the "system" to make it work. quit bitchin' and elect leader that think like you do.

Do you not understand the point of message boards (particularly political ones)?

We are here to debate & discuss. Add something worth-while to the discussion.

of course i do. my addition to the conversation is that way too many moan and groan about those that have more money than they do and bitch that somehow they didn't earn it. if you don't like the system elect those that will change the laws governing the system.....do you understand that?....if you think of something worthwhile to add, please do.

Yea, I got it. Your addition is to add nothing of substance or anything people hadn't already thought of it.

It is not like there was a thread started with just complaining & no mention of possible solutions, and its not like Red's only addition to this thread has been to complain. It was a single post which helped further the discussion. Your post did not.

Everything I add is worthwhile, chief.

well geez....let's see.... having read this and other posts of it's ilk it seems it goes like this:

libs: they are too rich and they didn't earn their money

conservatives: it's their money, not yours

libs: let's tax it some more

    conservatives: no don't do it

    ad nauseum, etc, etc, etc

    pretty much sum it up?

not a lot that's original under the sun, and somehow i don't remember you dazzling me with your brilliant interpretations of the conversations of the day.

and btw....when i bother to post something, it adds to the conversation.

thankfully it's not up to you and your myopic view to determine what is and is not worthwhile.

you are beginnning to remind me of robert kennedy jr bemoaning our energy use and traveling around the country on a private jet to bitch about it.

don't like my posts? ignore 'em.

you get bonus points for the clever use of "chief" :)

I've noticed these changes in the workplace and goverment policies.

Health insurance premiums have shifted more and more to employees, some completely to employees, if offered at all.

Retirement plans have been switched from defined benefit to defined contribution, or no retirement plans at all.

    Real wages have been stagnent.

U.S. policy and laws have become decidedly more unfriendly to labor unions.

The supreme court leans heavily to the right.

The gap between rich and poor is larger now than ever.

Tax cuts have been tilted to favor the wealthy

And we actually think that the U.S. is becoming more socialistic?

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I'd like to believe that the discussions we've had on this board have open people's minds on some subjects & maybe even made them change their mind on others. I know they've helped me shape some of my views. That is why I continue to come here. If there was no point in discussing them, none of us would be here.

Obviously, SabanFan won't be changing his mind any time soon - back to queer bashing once this thread is done. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Eh, kinda weak since that is exactly what I just said...

Props on myopic - had to look that one up to be sure I knew what it meant. :thumb:

 I'm reminded of SabanFan complaining about complainers during Miles' first year & how much he hated people that complained about situations they had no control over - like other posters complaining.

Something about that word just gets under people's skin. Another noun like that is "hoss". I was ready to fight a guy just because he kept calling me hoss one night. It pissed me off to no end.

and despite all that you have mentioned we could elect a president who has proposed approx. 1 trillion $$ in new spending.

when do we reign in the fiscal insanity?
