I wouldn't pick Carrol because he has a ton of talent and good coaches around him, so it's hard to say how good of a coach he really is.

Yes, but that could also be chalked up to loosing Leinart, Bush, White, Jarrett, etc...

but Norm was the brainchild that kept the offense throttling opponents.

Well they didn't necessarily suffer, because Booty started to suck it up for awhile. I just think the scheme is different now, and the weapons aren't being used the same way Norm would have used them.

Call it whatever you want. This is the 10th year of the BCS, and he's taken OU to 3 title games.

    I'll take that!!!

Just my .02 but I don't think Stoops was out coached in any of those games. He maybe guilty of not having his team "focused" or "ready" in the orange bowl vs USC, LSU and Boise just outplayed them. I know "If" my aunt had a package she'd be my uncle, BUT if there is oh say, 1 maybe 2 more minutes left in that 03 Sugar, I don't like our chances.

As much as I can't stand the guy, I would say Tubberville.

Whats the fun of going, if you can't contend for the title... he won his first title against a weak FSU. His offense was throttled by a hungry LSU defense. And got his socks blown off by a badass USC team. Then he gets outwhitted in the Fiesta last year by Chris Peterson and Boise State. Now Bob Stoops is a winner, but I definitely understand that he has been outcoached...hell Les outcoached him a couple of times in the Bedlam games.

IMO we are debating a very fine line. A portion of their offensive success while Chow was the OC was attributable to his schemes and play calling. The majority of the offensive success was the players executing it on the field IMO.

And I gave Carroll the slight edge over Tressell & Richt.

How many BCS Bowl games has Stoops been too? Including title games? Is that 4 or 5?

I bet that number is real close to the total of Nick Saban, Les Miles and Urban Meyer.....COMBINED!!!

    5 BCS Bowls -- 3 Conference Titles

    Orange Bowl (2000) National Title
    Rose Bowl (2002) Won
    Sugar Bowl (2003) Loss
    Orange Bowl (2005) Loss
    Fiesta Bowl (2006) Loss

    Also gone to Holiday (W), Cotton (W), and Independence (L) 1999, 2001, 2004.

I'm not saying he's not a great coach, I just think there are a few better then him.

    Pete Carroll

    5 BCS Bowls -- 5 Conference Titles

4-1 in BCS (lose to Vince Young)

    Pretty damn impressive.
