Skyler Green 2004: 24 catches 219 yards 4 rushes for 20 yards Skyler Green 2005: 27 catches 210 yards 9 rushes for 95 yards Looks like this staff is using Skyler more than Saban's did in 2004.
Green was hobbled most of last year with an ankle injury, so looking at numbers can be somewhat misleading.
I agree to a point, but Doucet & the emergence of Bennie Brazell as a serious deep threat are cutting into a lot of his PT at WR. Skyler is the #2 PR in the SEC with not many teams willing to kick to him. He'll be on an NFL roster IMO, as a WR/Returns Specialist.
But Skyler was the most seasoned on a team of young WRs. So despite his injury, we still used him quite a bit last season. I think some people have overinflated opinions of Green. He's a playmaker, but he's no reggie bush & despite thoughts otherwise, he has never been a huge threat at WR for us.
Skyler IS our #2 most productive receiver behind Bowe. I don't think our coaches are under utilizing him, JR just throws to Bowe more. Granted I love to see Skyler make plays but these 'what if' threads are tiring.
Since I don't get to see the Tigers in person, I often wonder about what Skyler is doing when he isn't involved in the play. Any thoughts on ... 1. What type of patterns he is running beside the bubble screen? 2. Is he open on those patterns and JR overlooking him?
This is killing me. His name is SKYLER with an E. I'm usually not one to point out spelling errors, but as long as the thread is about this guy - let's spell his name right. Tiger Dabbs, are you forgetting about Buster Davis? He is easily above Skyler for 2nd most productive WR.
OK, I stand corrected. :thumb: Skyler is second in number of receptions. Buster is second in recieving yards, while Skyler is fourth behind Bowe, Davis and Doucet.
