Never been that into concerts Cowboy Mouth Goo Goo Dolls Better Than Ezra Staind The Roots (awesome btw) Widespread Panic The best concert I've been to has to be back when I was in high school. Incubus opened for 311 in New Orleans and absolutely blew them off the stage. This was back when Incubus was actually pretty good. Since Morning View, they haven't really done much. Although their new album Light Grenades has a few good songs on it....
Metallica Guns and Roses Ozzy Faith No More Ratt/Queensryche Montley Crue Bon Jovi Cinderrella Poison George Thoragood (sp) Heart Lita Ford Beastie Boys/Fat Boys Aerosmith David Allen Coe Anthrax White Lion....they opened for one of the above. I can't remember which. There were several others. I've drank too much since then to remember them at this time. I went to several free concerts at Camp Lejuene while stationed there.
I probably couldn't name them all. From Elvis to all of the best rock bands of the 70's and 80's, to a lot of country acts of today. BUT, I do had a box with all of the ticket stubs. I look at them and it is awesome. STYX Boston Van Halen Ted Nugent White Snake Molly Hatchet Black Sabbath Black Crowes ARS Lynard Skynard RUSH ZZ Top Doobies 3 Doors Down Emily Lou Harris Willy Nelson (very good show) Alan Jackson (good show) Hank Kansas Alabama Huey Lewis (party with the band afterwards) Def Leppard (party with the band in a little bar afterwards where they smashed the little local guys equipment and walked out). I can't think of them all, but I bet I have albums from then all still. Not too many in the last 5 or 6 years, except for local city festivals. (Peter Frampton 2 years ago).
I'm kinda amazed at how many people, including myself, who have see David Allen Coe. ( I was drunk the day my ma got out of prison ! .... Classic ! )
I saw him at a little hole in the wall bar in Houma a few year back. There must have been at least 15 people (including bartenders, bouncers and band members) in there that night. I was shocked nobody showed up.
Me too. Saw him on a package show with Willie Nelson, also the Amazin' Rhythm Aces, a band that should've stuck together. Martin's right. Coe's appearance defies description.
Just thinking about concert stories... I saw Larry Gatlin once in Shreveport, a few weeks after Pittsburg had beaten the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. Gatlin called Shreveport native and Pittsburg QB Terry Bradshaw up on stage to sing with him. The crowd booed Bradshaw. Gatlin got pissed and threw a minor fit, course that was in his druggin' days. He got some bad press for his behavior. Have run into Gatlin a few times in the last couple of years at the airport. He's a pretty nice guy, now that's he's cleaned up.
