I looked for that thread couldn't find it? I would have liked La HOF to have waited until he was at least dead. Him saying that he regretted using LSU as a stepping stone to the NFL is the same equivalence as Robert McNamara apologizing for the Vietnam war.
Maybe not dead, but retired. No one was surprised by his jump to the NFL. IMO, Saban is deserving, but I question the timing. Not because he keeps kicking LSU's ass on the field, but his recruiting of LA has been detrimental to the program. Put him in when he retires.
I don't ;have a problem with putting him in our HOF. I appreciate what he did for our program both on & off the field while he was here. He may end up being one of the best college coaches ever.
