When a win could just have easily been a loss, its not quite as gratifying. I'm not calling for anybody's head, I'm just frustrated with our weak offensive output every other year and two years in a row now. I know that Les Miles is still in his first year, but he still has alot to prove. I think Saban did after his first year as well, though Miles has more to work with.

I'll just say I don't think the offense has pulled their weight and I don't think it's been acceptable to date. The team (of which the offense is a part) has won games, we've gutted out alot of close wins against tough teams, and lost a close one in OT to a talented UT team. If the offense ever does get it together, our team would be a severe badass. Right now Texas, USC, and Virginia Tech are THE teams. We could definitely be in the mix if the offense improves and the defense continues to play well.

LSU football that recruits like it does and has the resources it does should challenge for the SEC West title every year---which, for the most part, it now does. Other things---like an annual chance at winning the conference and going to a BCS bowl and, occasionally, at winning a national title if the stars are so aligned---will follow from winning the division every year (or coming pretty damn close each year).

That sounds about right to me.

Say the hurricanes didn't affect our team: On average, the team lost 7 lbs each from the lack of routine etc. We lost our key warm up game to get everything gelled with a new coaching staff. The team had to open up the season on the road in a spur of the moment decision & beat a very good ASU team. I believe that this team has been playing together, but as individuals, this season because of it. The coaches never had the time to properly gel them & were forced to hurry up the process in order to win as many games as possible. This has resulted in penalties, turnovers, & mainly inconsistency. I don't make excuses, I just call it like I see it.

You guys are upset because you compare LSU to USC, Texas & Virginia Tech. The truth is, LSU is playing just as good of, if not better than, ball as the rest of the country. Every other team suffers from inconsistency. Plenty of other teams have talent too. LSU has no god-given right to win any game. The coaches & players have to go out there & make it happen. I hate that some fans think LSU is entitled to wins because we've got "so much talent", even if that talent can't catch a ball. Miles didn't inherit Heisman candidates & turn them into chumps. He inherited an inconsistent team with potential & has managed to win some pretty big games so far with that!

My expectations are for LSU to compete for the SECCG. I'll be upset if we don't get there, but I don't think we're entitled to it.

    - I expect us to beat the top SEC teams by any means neccisary (within the rules of course). I don't care how ugly or how bad we look doing it, as long as we beat them.

    - I expect us to Dominate infirior opponents. The ony game i am dissapointed in this regard is the Vandy game. Yes we put it together in the 4th but the game was too close for too long.

    - I expect us to win games against qualtiy OOC opponents.

    - I expect us to compete for the SEC west chapionship every year and be in the NC race most of the time.

So far this year this team has met most of my expectations. The O has looked good enough for my expectations, relative to the opponent we were playing, all but 1 1/2 times (you all know the half i am talking about).

I do think we go too conservative at times, but i am okay with the offense because it is doing enough to win games and it looks as if the TO and penalty problems have been solved...... for now.

You want dominate Offense, go watch the crap 10. Don't look for JR to have his "breakout" game versus Bama. Les and the crew are going to play the game just as conservative as they have been in the past two games. Bama is not a team that you change your style midseason and throw 45 times a game and expect to beat them. That D is too good to allow that. JR and the rest of the offense will play a solid game and will do what they need to win the game.

SEC West Champs. Then SEC Champions. Sugar Bowl (should USC and Texas and VT all remain undefeated and ahead of us). THen Sugar Bowl champs.

All of the above are within our reach and the best thing is that we don't have to rely on outcomes of games between external parties to get there. :thumb:

Of course last year's staff couldn't do it with the addition of Spears, Broussard, Turner, etc. but this year's staff must. :dis:
