I agree, with qualifications. Every country is protecting its own industries right now and so must we. But it's not always so simple with a global economy and multinational corporations. Some give an take is going to happen and we have to look at the big picture.

Ford has plants on five continents and sell vehicles worldwide, as do many "American" corporations. Plus, Mazda and Volvo are owned by Ford. Deals are going to be cut between countries to find a balance point. We need to play hardball about keeping jobs at home, but be open to deals that benefit both parties.

or what if i want to buy a toyota because it is what i think is best? how cumbersome is the paperwork to prove where the specific totoya was assembled? japan? usa? canada?

protectionism? trade wars? other countries not importing our materials or products to protest causing other sectors to tank?

And next year it will go down to $8.00. Think I'll go out and buy that yacht I've been looking at. This is Obama's idea of stimulus? Bush gave us $600.

and just think, if they took this $850 billion and divided it equally among every man, woman, and child in the country, then we would each be getting almost $3000. i could do a whole lot more to stimulate the economy with $3000 than i could with $13 every paycheck.

I would rather it be just taxpayers, not every man woman and child. You don't pay taxes or you are not legally in this country, you don't get ****.
