OK, I think Florida deserves to play Ohio State more than Michigan does, because: 1) Florida actually won their conference 2) Michigan already had a chance to beat Ohio State. I actually am hoping, however, that Florida does NOT leapfrog Michigan, because I'd rather see LSU go to the Rose Bowl.
I think thats the general consensus for most LSU fans. We all want the rose bowl and want it more than we want UF in the NCG, where they deserve.
Exactly. I thought after OU lost their CCG in '03 and made it to the NC against us, the BCS was tweaked to where you couldn't make the NC game without winning your conference. Did I just imagine that? Islstl?
I think any SEC fan would be very happy and proud that an SEC team plays in the title game. This one is tough to root either way concerning Florida. On the one hand you will pissed Florida didn't deservedly get that shot at Ohio State. On the other, elated LSU is playing USC in the Rose Bowl. Kinda sucks, actually.
I didn't graduate from the SEC. I graduated from LSU. Demolishing ND in the Sugar Bowl is a pretty great consolation prize though.
Agreed; especially since I'd actuallt be able to go to the Sugar Bowl. Don't get me wrong though, the Rose Bowl is and should be our first choice.
If Florida goes, it'll be the first time a Conference Championship GAME (as opposed to a Conference Championship) REALLY made the difference in deciding which of two otherwise equally successful teams goes to the NC game. You've got Florida playing and winning and, quite frankly, Michigan is a memory in voters minds.
I will post each computer poll as soon as they are published. Three polls are decided, with Massey, Colley and Anderson/Hester all in Florida's favor. Massey already had Florida ahead of Michigan, Billingsley will be in Michigan's favor. Colley you can do a what if scenario, and the Florida win and USC loss puts Florida all the way up to #1 in the their poll ahead of Ohio State. Anderson/Hester I project easily will go in Florida's favor. That leaves 2 computer polls. That leaves the Sagarin, and Wolfe. It doesn't look like Florida will surpass Michigan, but these polls are still too close to call. In Wolfe, Florida's opponent Arkansas was ranked #8. In Sagarin, Arkansas was #7. That's good news for Florida. Florida stands the best chance at overtaking Michigan in the Sagarin poll. Massey poll had Arkansas as #6. There is the slight chance Florida climbs all the way to #1 in his poll. But the bastard keeps his poll a secret and doesn't publish it.
