"I've got a tremendous amount of gratitude for the way the people have treated us in these few days, which have been difficult for us, like most career choices can be for anyone," Saban said. "And I certainly appreciate the support and apologize for the inconvenience it has created for anybody."

at the end of the day, when he is weighing his options, you'd be a fool to think this is so black and white as you imply. I have been in a similar situation (although millions less!) and the little things will sway you one way or another.
