ProudTiger is a good man, he and Ramah have some nice interchanges.

Your wife is a Beaver.. ???? SEC man we stick together.

Also as a side note, I heard OSU is a pretty cool experience, sure not as many fans but I heard its pretty nuts. I would like to go there once and experience a game.

MarineTiger.....Sorry you feel that way. We have some good LSU guys on my Auburn board and we have lots of fun with little hard smack. I came here last year only because one of them invited me to. But you can take heart, I don't post here often.

Thanks Texastigers. Hey I think you know a guy has to keep his beaver happy :hihi:
Yeah Corvallis is a neat place, pretty little town. OSU was down for so long in football (no bowl in over 30 years) a lot of their fans just lost interest. that's the reason their stadium is so small. They didn't need a bigger one. But their Fiesta Bowl victory a few years back over ND stirred up renewed interest in football. It's good to see their enthusiasm.

They've been downhill since the Fiesta Bowl win. The SI curse really hurt them and they haven't recovered yet. This will not be a good year either. Ofcourse they are satisfied winning 6 and 7 games a season and going to the Las Vegas Bowl.

Exactly....even as much as I hate Auburn, I'll still pull for them every game other than the 3rd in this season. If they go to the SECCG
   I'll pull for them b/c they're in the West. If they go to the Orange Bowl                                    I'll pull for them just to represent the SEC.

You're right.........they will be intimidated and in awe. This is a great experience for the Beavers to go to a large school and see how it's done. I am a Troy University(still want to say Troy State....when I attended it was Troy State and always will be to me) fan, and when we went to our first LARGE school...Nebraska....it was totally awesome and quite intimidating. Troy has a stadium of 30,000 now..so it's just a little smaller than the Beavers.
The thing that I remember most is how the Nebraska fans treated us. They were so gracious and made us feel at home, and even after we returned home their fans sent emails and praised our band, and wished us good luck with the remainder of our season. Some times larger universities forget how long it took them to get that way, and how much they can help a smaller school, and be an inspiration to them..(of course you beat them on the field....that's just a given, but you do it with class). So LSU show them that you have a great stadium, great team, and gracious fans, and believe me they will remember how they were treated when they went to the "big house", and tell everyone that will listen of the experience.

Good post Bama. By the way, what is the availability of LSU tickets at Troy. Since I live in Greenville and would like to go to an LSU game this year I was thinking I might be able to pick one up at Troy U. Thanks for any info. :geaux:

I'm not real sure about the Troy/LSU tickets right now....I live in Tuscaloosa now, and don't get to many of the Troy games as I would like. I do know that they are getting a bus together to take a lot of fans. Go to Go Troy State, and I bet they can help you. Ya'll please be nice to the Trojans...believe me they are excited about coming to "Tiger Stadium", and a lot of them are staying in New Orleans, and making quite a week-end of it. This is still a new experience to us....the team has been playing large schools for a few years now, but we are finally playing some close to home where we fans can go. You have no idea how we felt the first time we played a SEC school....it was Mississippi State and of course we were scheduled for their homecoming...............hey we won, and we had more fans there than they did........it was horrible weather. It rained the entire day, and we had to evacuate the stadium because of a tornado warning, but when it was over and we had won...it was a great feeling, and it finally made us feel that the decision to go Division 1 was worth it.

    Bama,

I'm living in Dothan now. It takes me about 45 min - 1 hour to get Troy from here. I heard this morning on a local radio sports show that ESPN Pre-game will be filmed lived at Troy for the Troy/Missourri game. Is this true? If so, Troy fans must be extremely excited! I also heard that tickets are only like $16 for the game. If so, I might even attend even though I'm a Tiger through and through.

Yes, it's true............we're moving in the big time now...and the entire city is excited. This information is from the Troy Messenger(the local paper) this morning.
The elite broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico and analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso - which has developed an almost cult-like following of college football fans across the country - tentatively is scheduled to work the game. Sideline reporter Jill Arrington, formerly of CBS, joins the crew this season.
I mean Lee Corso in Troy..........and he'd better be nice....I'm sure he will pick Missouri, but we could very well surprise him..........Troy is powerful at home, and the entire city supports them. I really think that is why Troy has more success filling their stadium than UAB has...because the city supports Troy, and Birmingham doesn't get behind UAB.
