Regional Considerations: The BCS will also mark the return of regional consideration regarding team selection. Specifically, as a member of the BCS, the Rose Bowl will host the Big Ten and Pac-10 champions in those years in which either the Rose Bowl does not have the national championship game or the Big Ten and Pac-10 champion is not ranked No. 1 or No. 2. Other "regional consideration" tie-ins include the SEC champion in the Sugar Bowl, the ACC or Big East champion in the Orange Bowl and the Big 12 champion in the Fiesta Bowl.
The big east is guaranteed a BCS bowl, so can the fiesta and orange pass on them to take at large bids?
The pecking order this year is Orange, Fiesta and Sugar. Since the Sugar is last, many people assume the others will pass on the Big East Champ ... which is probably true.
it'd make sense too, if you think about it. Atlanta's the only trip west virginia fans might make. not goint to tempe that's for sure. usc and texas in the rose, leaving probably notre dame in the fiesta vs bama and miami vs penn state in the orange with lsu and wv in the sugar... I mean a lot can happen, and you can flip-flop a notre dame and psu or even replace ND with a va tech, or if bama loses two or lsu loses two.. ohio state's still got a great chance at getting in with 2 losses because of their travelling fan base
Look at the positive ... tix will be cheaper and easier to get than our last visit to the Sugar!:thumb:
I don't care who we play. I just want to win the SEC and get to the Sugar. It's nothing the team can control so why get worked up about it? Put an opponent opposite us and let's get it on.
dont know what everyone is whinning about. just better hope that if LSU gets to Sugar Bowl it doesnt play South Florida.
